BROTHERS AND SISTERS,
PRAY FOR US.
- 1 Thessalonians 5:25

In 2010 (and beyond) I’m going to be working as a full-time Christian minister, partly with North Epping Anglican Church, and for 2 days a week with the Christian Union at Macquarie University. I’m excited.
The Christian Union is an AFES group — part of the Australian Fellowship of Evangelical Students. What this means in real terms is that we’ve got the mission of proclaiming Jesus Christ at university, and seeking to present everyone mature in him. I’ll be working alongside the many Christians on campus to help equip, teach, train, and encourage anyone I can to serve Jesus faithfully, and hopefully receiving the same in kind.
I would love your support as I do this. This takes two forms: prayer, and financial support.
Please Pray:
- for opportunities to share the gospel
- for the willingness of students to hear the claims of Jesus and trust him
- for encouragement and growth of Christian students
- for me as I juggle two different (but related) jobs
- for our family as we seek to grow in our relationships with one another, and with our God.
Financial Support
I’ve got 2 different roles next year. The church is funding my work as an Assistant minister for part of the week. The 2 days I’m on campus with AFES relies on the generosity and gracious support of churches and individuals.
Which probably means you.
To be clear, for the 2 days a week I’m employed by AFES, we need your support to eat.
In terms of numbers of what my fundraising target is, for 2010 I’m aiming to raise $23,500.
$23,500.
That’s not an insignificant number. So that could be about 23 individuals giving $20 a week (about the cost of a coffee per day). Or less people who give more. Or… you get the picture.
There’s a bunch of different ways to give. You can use a credit card for once-off or regular payments, or grab the form for direct debit or offline transactions. Make sure you nominate Sam Freney as an individual:
[Updated: I'm now on the individual 'worker' list, so there should be no confusion. Make sure you get the right Sam though!]
However you do it, we are very thankful for your generosity. Cheers.
Contact
Finally, we’d like to stay in contact with you about what’s happening throughout the year. If you would like to be in the loop, stick your contact details in the form below. Make sure you provide us with at least an email or postal address so we can let you know what’s going on.
